Megan's and Shirley's creations

Antique and girly - by Megan

When I saw the paper line Times and Season by Echo park, I fell in love with the deep colors in it. Even if the colors are deep they say girly to me, so i made a fast and simple card. I used some tulle that and sewed it up so it would give the pretty ruffle. Simple, soft, girly and timeless, voilà!

Rain rain, go away - by Megan

With the rain we have been having I have to keep telling my self that summer is near and sunshiny days will be here soon. The cardstock is Cosmo Cricket - Classics  and the patterned paper is Basic Grey - Sweet thread. I used a punch to cut out the pretty edge.

Happy Birthday! - by Megan

The Times and Seasons paper line by Echo park was just what I needed to make this soft birthday card. The papers are strong in color but have a soft antique feeling to them. This is great for so many things, and it's becoming one of my go to lines.

Kick Back - by Megan

Let me tell you something, I love garden gnomes. So when I saw this Echo Park Times and Seasons paper, I knew that I needed to use it with my garden gnomes stamps. I cut the green paper to make it look like grass and then hid Mr. Gnome in the grass.

Gift Box - by Megan

I love gifting pretty handmade or home baked gifts, but finding a way to box them up is the hard part for me. I started to play with the papers from both Basic Grey's Sweet Theads and Cosmo Cricket line by Core'dinations and after a whie of playing around I came up with the box. The base is made ou of  the cardstock from Core'dinations, the top is from the Basic Grey Sweet Thread line and so are the flowers. Happy scrapping!

Milk Carton - By Megan

What a better way to give a small gift to someone than by using a milk carton? With a few folds here and there, you can make one too! The base of the milk carton itself is from Core'dination. And the small band around the milk carton is from Basic Grey Sweet Threads line. The flowers are hand made scraps that I had.

Butterfly Wishes - by Megan

Since spring is on it's way to us, I felt the need to make a card that felt like spring. I found this paper by Glitz design in their Vintage Blue line. This card uses both sides of the patterned paper. The tule behind the butterfly is from their ribbon pack and I just added a few gems to it.

Easter Egg Hunt - by Shirley

All products in the LO have been purchased at Scrapbook Star. I used some of my beloved Basic Grey patterned paper (lemonade line)I love this line, Some Bo Bunny Cardstock as well as some Bazzill Cardstock and some of my favorite Cat's Eye Chalk Ink!

Birthday girl - by Megan

We are sorry we have been away for a couple of weeks, but we lost a very dear family member. We will miss Uncle George very very much.

We're just slowly getting back into the swing of things. So here is a card made by Megan and what she had to say about it:

What is more fun than a little girl's birthday party in the summer? Well, making this card was almost that much fun! Playing with the papers from the "Sweet Thread" line by Basic Grey. I first chose my paper and then found a scrap of Bazzill that I had to match it. As I began to play I discovered I did not like the look of all flat edges. So I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the edge. The banner was hand cut (there is also sticker banner in the pack of paper) and the two poles were made by cutting down one of the edge sticker (in the paper pack also) to size.

Corner Bookmark - by Shirley

Here is a corner bookmark that I made for my daughter. I have seen so many of them around lately, and thought it can't be that hard to make! Well me tell you I over think everything and Math is not my strong suit! LOL! So you can imagine with that combination, how long it took me to make this!!!

But at last it is done, and my daughter loves it! On the back there is plenty of room to write a little message for yourself or a loved one!

All Paper used were from the Hello Luscious paper pack from Basic Grey! The colours are so fun and vibrant! I know you will love this paper just as much as I do.

Quilting - by Megan

Playing around with the Sweet Thread paper from Basic Grey made me think of that fabric from your fav tops.
Taking this idea and running with it, I used a technique to make the background look like a quilt. To get this look, I cut thin strips of a few different patterned papers, then glued them onto to a different paper. Then I took that new paper to the trimmer and sliced off 1/2 inch strips, that went to create my new pattern paper.
Happy Scrapping!

Country Drive - by Shirley

Sometimes when I get a paper pack collection, I get frustrated because there is always that one page that I would love to have a double of or sometimes I need two of a certain embellishement that came with the pack. Well in that case, I sometimes use the example sheet that comes with the collection pack.
Here on my LO I had already used the tree embellishement, the cloud border and most of the PP from the Echo Park- Summer Days collection. So I pulled the example sheet out and used that for my background, used some PP from the kit (orange and blue) and then cut out the tree.
My Title you guessed is also from the example sheet of Echo Park-Country Drive.
This is such a great way to stretch your collections!
All products used on this Layout can be found in the store here at Scrapbook Star!

In bloom - by Megan

Sorry everyone.  I wasn't home to be able to post this. We'd like to welcome Megan Frost to the DT.  And I'm sure you will agree with me that she did an amazing job with her layout.  The following is in Megan's own words.

As soon as I saw the "Sweet Thread" paper line from Basic Grey I knew I needed it. The paper reminded me so much of the garden at my grandparents place in the country. The garden was always full of beautiful bloom flowers and a wooden swing set where my grandfather used to read to me. When I saw this paper I knew it was prefect for this layout. That pattern paper is from the Sweet Threads line and so are the paper embellishments, the card stock is from Cosmo Cricket Core'dinations line.

Please come back a little later to see which product is on special this week.  TFL!

It's the little things - by Tina

Hi everyone! Here is the first inspiration on Scrapbook Star's new blog. I am so excited that we are starting this new venture. For my card I used the 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey - Out Of Print.  I mounted every patterned paper with Bazzill.  For the adhesive I used the Tombow adhesive on my card.
